Brand New Original OEM Apple DVI to VGA adapter. Not much to say about these, they come with most new macs, but will work with any single or dual link DVI-I port, typical now on most Macs, PCs, and video Cards. The small approximately 4 inch (Between Connectors) cable seems a bit odd, but is actually pretty nice if You plug or unplug monitors often. The cable keeps direct stress off the video card DVI port and indirect stress from being transfered thru the card to the slot on the logic-board. It also makes it a bit easier to plug unplug things because it is just long enough so that you can turn the VGA connector to face you rather than having to peer behind the computer and try and see where to plug/unplug cables from a small adaptor pointing directly back form the video card. I must admit these seem like very minor considerations, but if you've ever had to swap monitor cables in the semi-darkness under a desk, with the back of your computer close to the wall, then maybe you'd think this little 4 inch bit of cable was a pretty handy idea.

These adaptors really don't do anything to the video signal, they just take existing signals from your DVI port, and arrange them to fit your monitors HD15 (VGA/SVGA) style connector/cable. They are made to fit single-link DVI-I type connectors rather than the DVI-D style more typical on older machines/cards. Looking at the picture below should help You see if this will plug into Your DVI port. The DVI connector matches the second port in from the left, the single-link DVI connector. These will plug into dual-link DVI-I port, with no problems, as it is simply "missing" some pins, however it WILL NOT plug into either the single or dual link DVD-D style ports, because it has 4 extra small pins 2 above, and 2 below the analog ground blade.
